Honoring Children

Honoring Children

A new generation of promise and possibilities, extending their families' dreams into the future...

Honor your children and grandchildren by planting trees for them when they are born, as they grow, and to honor special accomplishments. As your children grow and flourish, so will their trees.

You will see your children, those most precious of God's gifts, honored, excited, and touched by the ennobling gift of tree planting.

Children have a natural desire to protect and nourish the earth and its resources. They inspire us with their concern for all living things. We nurture and support their passion for ecology by teaching them the importance of trees for our world. When we each do our part,we can improve our world for future generations.

Journeying on the road, Choni HaM'agel met an old man planting a carob tree.He inquired how long before the sapling would bear fruit. Seventy years, was the reply. You are certain you will live another seventy years?, Choni asked. And the old man replied, When I came into this world, I found a carob tree that others had planted for me. Just as my ancestors planted for me, I plant this tree for my descendants. - Talmud (Ta'anit 23b)
