Dear Visitor to our Web Site:
We want you to know how we handle the information you send us via the internet. As we continue to develop our Web Site and take advantage of advances in technology to improve the services we offer, this privacy policy will change. We therefore encourage you to refer to this policy on an ongoing basis so that you understand our current policy. This policy was last updated on August 25, 2009.

This is the way we handle your information:

Privacy Policy

Automatic Collection
Our Web server automatically recognizes the visitor's domain name (not the email address) and records the visitor's browser and platform type (e.g. Netscape browser on a Microsoft platform).

"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Currently, if you place trees in a planting basket during your visit to TreesfortheHolyLand.com, we will create a cookie containing a unique customer number on your computer. This function enables us to store trees in your planting basket until you complete your purchase. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent such acceptance, which will unfortunately result in your inability to purchase trees online from us. We do not retain any individualized information as a result of our using cookies.

Personal Contact Information
In addition to using the information referenced above to fulfill your purchase order, we also retain your name, postal address, email address, telephone number and purchase information in our customer database. We use that information to track your order and to respond to your inquiries. We also may send you tree planting news or information via email no more than 4 times per year. When you purchase tree plantings all contact and personal information provided (email addresses, shipping and billing addresses, telephone numbers, etc.) stays private. Trees for the Holy Land never rents, sells, trades, or shares any customer information.

Your California Privacy Rights
Under California Civil Code sections 1798.83-1798.84, California residents are entitled to ask us for a notice describing what categories of personal information we share with third parties or corporate affiliates for those third parties' or corporate affiliates' direct marketing purposes. Trees for the Holy Land hereby posts this notice that we do not share, rent, sell, or trade our customers' information with any third parties.

Children's Privacy
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act took effect April 21, 2000 and pertains to Web Sites directed toward children under 13 years of age. Our Web Site is a general audience site. Trees for the Holy Land does not collect information on any person under 13 years. We also do not send email correspondence to anyone who tells us that they are under the age of 13. We ask that children do not submit information to us without the consent of a parent or guardian.

Ad Servers
Trees for the Holy Land does not have arrangements with any ad servers for this web site.

Personal information provided on our Web Site and online credit card transactions are transmitted through a secure server using Secure Socket Layering (SSL) encryption technology. When the letters "http" in the URL change to "https", the "s" indicates you are in a secure area employing SSL; also, your browser may give you a pop-up message that you are about to enter a secure area. SSL encrypts ordering information such as your name, address and credit card number. Ordering online by credit card has far greater safeguards than handing your credit card to a waiter in a restaurant.

If you are using a public computer, we strongly encourage you to LOG OUT at the conclusion of your session.
